Aad Meijer
I am Aad Meijer and at Acato I coach a student who wants to obtain some advanced diplomas in the subjects Maths & Mathematics and English. A good mutual contact and trust, based on equality, is a prerequisite for this.
Starting as a teacher, I later completed an English teacher training and a study of educational science.
Besides being a teacher, I have held various positions within or related to primary education as a director, educational officer in priority education areas, evaluator and staff member of a school counselling service. I also ran summer camps for young people with asthma.
Finally, as an internal supervisor in a primary school, school improvement (organisation, staff and pupils) was my goal and passion. I got to know pupils in all shapes and sizes and with various peculiarities (with emphasis on peculiarities).
I have great respect for Acato's objective, where young people with a form of autism are given the opportunity to further develop their creative talents. All this with the full commitment of supervisors and volunteers. Since 2015 I may contribute to this, in my field of expertise.
